Fun Day

We started the morning out at the football field watching Conner play football. Then Conner and Cole went with me to the Golf Course and we played nine holes of golf. It took us almost four hours and we had a blast. They play pretty well for five and eight. I guess we lost about a half dozen balls which is pretty good for three people. It was our first time to go play a round of golf and at the end I told them to keep the ball and tee they had in their pocket as a reminder of our first golf outing. They are spending the night and playing marbles as I write this.

Busy time

As fall approaches my schedule at work is such that doing my blog is only a luxury.

Cheryl and I kept Jason a bit this weekend, I did yard work, went to a funeral, and Sunday School and Church today. I almost meet myself coming and going.

Well this week is the Georgia Peanut Tour and so it will really be busy on top of other irons I have in the fire. Still, I would rather stay busy.

This is my mom and dad with my three grandsons. I am fortunate to have loving parents and loving grandsons on either end of the spectrum.

It was Mama and Daddy's 60th Wedding Anniversary and we had a celebration set for them at their house for Sunday afternoon but Hurricane Gustav had other plans and they were under a mandatory evacuation starting at 6 Sunday morning so we had our celebration with family and then all ended up going our separate ways.

Still, we had a nice family get together over the weekend and had a really great seafood dinner with the family at the Blue Marlin on Saturday night.

Here is a picture of the family except for my brother, Henry and his family. It seems that it is hard to get us all hemmed up together to get a picture but I have learned to cherish the time we have no matter how little it is.

Family is truly one of the gifts that God has given us.

We were league co-champions and the medal was for his first ever home run. It was a three run homer. I helped coach.
